New WordPress Course For Cleaners

(Newswire.net– January 31, 2013) Pensacola, FL–  An advertising and training firm is now teaching carpet cleaning companies how to use WordPress in their business.  Hitman Advertising trains cleaning companies all over the world.  Launching this week is their new online course that shows carpet cleaning company owners and managers how to use WordPress to add content to their WordPress website and even create new WordPress websites.

John Braun, Hitman Advertising owner, says, “The search engines seem to love WordPress, so that makes me love WordPress.  Cleaning company owners love WordPress because they can easily make changes to their site all by themselves.  This means they don’t have to contact their web designer to make changes.  It can all be done in house with no hassle.”

With the advancements in WordPress, it’s becoming more popular among small businesses as an option for a website.  Many of the site designs look just like a standard website.  In fact, many times you cannot tell the difference between a WordPress website and a regular coded website.

“We’ve been teaching courses on how cleaning companies can use the Internet to get clients for years.  Since WordPress is now so popular, we decided to teach one specifically about WordPress.  Cleaning companies who maximumize what WordPress can do will benefit greatly and get more cleaning clients.” said Braun.

Course participants will also find out how to best set their WordPress website up for search engines to best index them.  The course will be taught by videos, reports and live webinars.  The training is geared for beginner to intermediate users.  Even the most inexperienced computer user can learn WordPress.

Hitman Advertising is an advertising agency that caters to the carpet cleaning industry.  They provide training, websites, postcards, Every Door Direct Mail, brochures and consultation to carpet cleaning business owners.

Best Website For the Cleaning Biz?

In most cases, the WordPress platform is the best option for most cleaning companies.

Why?

1.  It’s easy for a novice to add text and pictures.

2.  You don’t usually need a webmaster after the site is built.

3.  Google loves ranking WordPress sites.

WordPress used to only be for blogs.  But not any more.

It can be used for any website, mini-sites, and more.

Below, let me know what you want to know about WordPress.  Coming next week we’re starting training to show you about using WordPress to get more clients.

Here are some options for your cleaning websites:

WordPress

Google seems to love it. When a site is designed in WordPress, it allows even novice Internet users the ability to easily add and edit web pages, pictures and videos. This is great for a cleaning company that wants to keep their site updated with recent specials, news and updates about their business. Suppose a bad storm hits your city and you want to advertise water extraction on the main page of your site. With a WordPress website, you can easily add it.

There is a small learning curve, but it’s fairly easy to get the hang of. WordPress used to be known merely as a platform for blogging. It enabled “bloggers” to post news and updates to a website without the use of Webmaster. Because the information being created was instantly posted, Google created a system to quickly allow blog results to show up in their searches. This makes WordPress websites more search engine friendly and more likely to show up in searches.

Today, entire websites are being created based on the WordPress platform. You can learn how to set up a WordPress site at no cost with a little research, or you can get a webmaster to initially set it up properly. The cost may start at a few hundred dollars for the set up. WordPress is a great choice for many cleaning companies because of its ease of use after the site is created.

See http://www.cleanedbyextreme.com for examples of WordPress sites.

Joomla

Very similar to WordPress, it’s another free, open source platform for creating websites. It’s the second most popular blogging program, however it’s much more difficult to use than WordPress.

Hard Coding HTML or PHP

This is the original way of website building. Yes, many websites are still built in HTML. Most any type of design can be done with HTML or PHP code, which makes it very versatile. The major drawback however is that you need to understand coding to build a site this way. Hard coding is something most cleaning companies should avoid doing themselves, but a Webmaster can be hired to build a site for you starting at a few hundred dollars.  And when changes need to be made, you’ll need to contact your webmaster again.

Online Site Builders

This is an easy alternative some cleaning companies use to get up a temporary site. These are do-it-yourself site builders where you build your site online. The prices can range anywhere from $5 a month to over $100 per month. The most popular is GoDaddy’s Website Tonight, but many other companies have their own online site building programs.

However, you are severely limited in what the site can do. As well, these sites are difficult to get ranked in the search engines, as many aren’t search engine friendly. For companies on a really tight budget, online site they are an acceptable temporary choice. But you’ll soon want to upgrade into a better website.

My 2013 Cleaner Advertising Predictions

2013 is officially kicked off.  So I want to get right to what I believe is happening in the advertising world for cleaners.

Since the latest Google updates, it’s become somewhat unpredictable in how rankings will show.

Now that the postal service has launched EDDM (Every Door Direct Mail), lots of things changed.

And what about Val-pak, RSVP, Angie’s List, Groupon, and other advertising sources?

I’ll tell you my predictions:

Google will continue to be an excellent source for cleaners to get new clients for little money.  However, rankings will continue to bounce around.  Many cleaner sites will lose ranking due to poor content on the site.  Having a solid internet marketing plan will continue to be one of the best advertising investments a cleaning company can make.

Every Door Direct Mail will become more popular.  As small businesses see advertising the USPS is doing, more will catch on.  But only the smart marketers, who do it properly, will continue to use EDDM.  This will continue to make EDDM a great advertising source.

The Yellow Pages…ah, never mind.  Everyone knows where it’s headed.

Coupon mailers like Val-pak and RSVP will rise in popularity due to less advertising dollars spent on yellow pages.  This can be a great opportunity for some companies.  But BEWARE…coupon pricing isn’t the market you want to get stuck in.

Groupon will continue to lose popularity.  Other companies like Living Social, Dealfind, and other local Groupon-like sites continue to dilute their market share.  Many companies were disappointed Groupon’s lack of customer service (I know I was).  Nonetheless, some cleaners will still use Groupon with some success.

Newspaper will continue to decrease.  Subscribers are at a low due to many people getting their news online.  But for some cleaners who service communities with the majority of residents 60+ years old, newspaper can still be a great advertising source.

Radio will get an increase in advertisers.  Many companies don’t know where to spend ad dollars, so they turn to radio.  For many cleaners, radio will be a bust if the campaign isn’t designed properly.  Remember, for most cleaning companies, the only way your client will hire you is to call you.  People don’t write down phone numbers from radio commercials.

Whatever you do, make your advertising get you clients!
