Since Black Friday is next week, I’m going to give you some ideas to get cleaning business coming in now. This is stuff you can use at the spur of the moment.
Black Friday is a perfect time to jump in the conversation already going on in the mind of your prospects. So why not take advantage?
First, come up with a killer offer. This is an offer that seems too good to be true in the eyes of the client.
WARNING: Make sure you’re still making money on this offer. When I say “killer offer,” I’m NOT suggesting you give huge discounts for no reason. If you give discounts, have a purpose in mind to make money from that discount.
Some examples:
Cross-sell your services. If you primarily do carpet cleaning, give away $50 in FREE tile cleaning with a $150 or more carpet cleaning purchase. This will lead the way for you to do MORE tile cleaning.
Run a special “Groupon” style offer now that is only good two weeks following Christmas. This is time that you’re likely to be slow, so giving away an incredible deal during weeks when sales are low can help keep your techs busy.
Give gifts or discounts when clients purchase high-dollar cleaning. When a client gets cleaning over $300 or $400, give away extras such as a FREE bottle of spot remover, FREE area rug cleaning, or a small dollar amount off.
Sell gift certificates. Since people are in the mood for gift buying, offer gift certificates for your cleaning service at a discounted rate.
How will you get the word out at the last minute about these Black Friday offers?
Facebook. Since it’s the most visited website in the world, your clients are on Facebook. You can post the special on your personal page, business fan page, and even create a Facebook ad announcing the specials.
Google Adwords. Show up instantly in the search engines announcing your Black Friday special. Adwords is great for doing this.
Craigslist. Normally I’m not a big fan of media that may make your company brand look cheap. But in the case of Black Friday specials, it is okay in my book. Announce your deal on Craigslist.
Email newsletter. Send an email to your entire client list announcing your special offer.
Make sure you include a start date and end date when your offer is good. Also include any other exclusions like “not valid with other offers” and “other exclusions may apply.” You want to give a killer offer without someone blatantly taking advantage of your generosity.
It’s the holiday season. Go make the most of it!
Keep watch for an email from me next week about a killer Black Friday offer I have for you!
